ShasQR: QR Scanner & Maker
Effective Date: September 7, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to ShasQR. ShasQR is a QR code and barcode scanner, generator, organizer, and business utility application developed by ShasTech-IT.
Your privacy is important to us. ShasQR is designed so that QR codes, barcode contents, scan history, saved QR codes, templates, organization data, and other user-created content are processed primarily on your device.
ShasTech-IT does not operate a server that receives or stores the QR codes, barcode contents, saved records, scan history, Wi-Fi passwords, business CSV data, contacts, or other content that you create or scan using ShasQR.
2. Information Processed by ShasQR
Depending on the features you use, ShasQR may process information such as:
- QR code and barcode contents that you scan.
- QR codes, barcodes, contact cards, Wi-Fi codes, URLs, text, events, and other codes that you create.
- Scan history and favorite scan records.
- Saved QR codes and barcode records.
- Folders, tags, pinned items, and organization metadata.
- QR Studio designs, templates, colors, logos, and export settings.
- Batch QR or barcode information imported from text or CSV files.
- Inventory information used to generate barcode labels.
- Contact information used to generate QR contact cards or badges.
- App preferences such as scanner mode, privacy options, Incognito settings, and appearance settings.
This information is normally processed locally within the application and is not uploaded to ShasTech-IT servers.
3. Information We Do Not Collect on Our Servers
ShasTech-IT does not directly collect or maintain a central database containing your:
- QR scan history.
- Barcode scan history.
- Saved QR codes.
- Wi-Fi passwords.
- Bank or payment information encoded in QR codes.
- Contact QR data.
- Business inventory records.
- Imported CSV files.
- QR Studio templates.
- Folders and tags.
- Backup contents.
Unless you choose to export, share, open, search, or otherwise send information outside ShasQR, this content remains under your control on your device.
4. Permissions We Request
ShasQR requests only permissions required for supported features. Some functionality may be unavailable if a permission is denied.
- Camera: Used to scan QR codes and supported barcodes using your device camera. Camera images used for live scanning are processed for code detection and are not uploaded to ShasTech-IT servers.
- Internet: Used primarily for Google AdMob advertising, consent management, opening or searching online content when requested by you, and other features that require network connectivity.
- Network State: Used to determine whether a network connection is available for online services such as advertising.
- Wi-Fi State: Used when processing Wi-Fi QR codes and related Wi-Fi features.
- Change Wi-Fi State: May be used when you choose an action related to connecting to a Wi-Fi network represented by a QR code, subject to Android platform limitations.
- Vibration: Used to provide optional haptic feedback when a QR code or barcode is successfully detected.
- Legacy Storage Access: On Android 9 and earlier, ShasQR may use legacy write-storage permission for saving generated images or exported files. Newer Android versions use modern Android storage APIs and the system document/file picker instead of broad storage access.
- Biometric / Device Authentication: Where App Lock or protected-content features are available and enabled, ShasQR may request authentication through Android's biometric or device-credential system. ShasQR does not receive or store your fingerprint, face template, PIN, password, or other biometric credential.
5. Camera and Gallery Scanning
When you scan using the camera, ShasQR analyzes the camera preview locally to detect QR codes and supported barcode formats.
When you choose an image from your device, ShasQR uses Android's system file or photo picker where supported. The selected image is used to locate and decode QR or barcode information.
ShasQR does not automatically upload selected images or camera frames to ShasTech-IT servers.
6. Scan History, Saved QR Codes and Organizer Data
Unless Incognito Scan is enabled, ShasQR may save supported scan results locally so you can access them later through History.
You can:
- Delete individual history records.
- Select and delete multiple history records.
- Clear scan history.
- Favorite or unfavorite records.
- Organize records using folders and tags.
- Pin important records.
Organizer metadata such as folders, tags, and pins is stored locally with ShasQR's application preferences.
7. Incognito Scan
ShasQR provides an Incognito Scan option for users who do not want scanned content added to normal scan history.
When Incognito Scan is active, supported scan results can still be opened or acted upon, but ShasQR avoids adding them to normal scan history.
If you separately copy, share, export, open, or send the scanned information to another application, that action is outside the protection provided by Incognito Scan.
8. Batch Scanning and Business Tools
Batch scan results are primarily maintained for the current scanning session and can be exported or shared if you choose.
Business Tools may allow you to import CSV or other supported files for barcode labels, inventory labels, contact badges, or related generation features.
Imported business information is processed locally by ShasQR. However, files that you export, save, print, or share may contain the original information you supplied.
9. Backups and Restore
ShasQR allows you to create local backup files containing supported application data such as saved QR codes, history, settings, templates, and organization metadata.
Backup files are created only when you request them and are saved to a location you select.
Where encrypted backup functionality is available, ShasQR may protect backups using password-based encryption.
Backup passwords are not stored by ShasTech-IT. If you forget the password for an encrypted backup, the encrypted contents may not be recoverable.
Older backups created by previous versions of ShasQR may be unencrypted. Users should store such legacy backup files securely.
10. App Lock and Protected Content
Where supported, ShasQR may provide App Lock or protected-item features using Android biometric authentication or your device screen-lock credential.
Authentication is handled by the Android operating system. ShasQR does not receive or store your fingerprint template, facial recognition template, device PIN, device password, or device unlock pattern.
Protection features are intended to reduce casual or unauthorized access to content on your device, but no security mechanism can guarantee absolute protection.
11. Exports and Sharing
ShasQR allows you to export or share information in formats such as:
- PNG images.
- SVG files.
- PDF documents.
- CSV files.
- JSON files.
- ZIP archives.
- ShasQR backup files.
Once you save or share a file outside ShasQR, its handling is controlled by the selected storage location, application, cloud provider, messaging service, email service, or other destination.
ShasTech-IT is not responsible for the privacy practices of external applications or services that you choose to use for sharing or storage.
12. Third-Party Advertising and Consent Services
ShasQR may use third-party services including:

ShasTech-IT does not sell your QR code contents, barcode contents, scan history, saved QR records, or business data to advertisers.
