ShasSIP Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 4, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to ShasSIP. Your privacy is important to us. ShasSIP is an independent third-party SIP softphone application developed by ShasTech-IT. It allows users to connect to compatible SIP and VoIP service providers using credentials supplied by those providers.
ShasSIP does not provide SIP accounts, telephone numbers, calling credit, or VoIP services of its own. Users are responsible for obtaining and maintaining their SIP credentials and services directly from their chosen SIP or VoIP provider.
ShasSIP is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Jumblo, REVE Systems, iTel Mobile Dialer, Asterisk, FreePBX, or any other SIP or VoIP provider or platform unless explicitly stated otherwise.
2. Information ShasSIP Uses
ShasSIP does not require you to create a ShasSIP or ShasTech-IT user account. The application primarily processes information locally on your device in order to provide SIP calling functionality.
The application may process the following information:
- SIP Account Information: SIP username, authentication username, password, SIP server, registrar, proxy, port, transport settings, STUN settings, codec preferences, and other SIP configuration entered by you.
- Phone Numbers and SIP Addresses: Numbers or SIP addresses used for incoming and outgoing calls.
- Call History: Information such as incoming, outgoing, missed, rejected, failed, or completed calls, call timestamps, and call duration.
- Contacts: If you grant Contacts permission, ShasSIP may read your device contacts to display contact names, search contacts, resolve caller identities, and allow faster dialing.
- Favorites: Contacts selected as ShasSIP favorites are stored locally within the application.
- Microphone and Audio: Microphone and audio access is required to make and receive voice calls.
- Network and Diagnostic Information: Information such as network type, SIP registration status, negotiated codec, RTP packet statistics, packet loss, jitter, round-trip time, and related technical information may be processed for troubleshooting and call-quality diagnostics.
ShasTech-IT does not currently operate a ShasSIP cloud account system or central server for storing your SIP credentials, contacts, call history, or diagnostic history.
3. Permissions We Request
ShasSIP may request the following Android permissions to provide its calling features. Some permissions are optional, and denying them may limit specific functionality.
- Microphone: Required to transmit your voice during SIP calls.
- Contacts: Optional. Used to search your contacts, identify incoming callers, display contact names, and quickly dial stored numbers.
- Notifications: Used for SIP registration status, incoming calls, ongoing calls, missed calls, and background SIP service notifications.
- Foreground Service: Used to maintain SIP registration and support reliable incoming calls while ShasSIP is running in the background.
- Foreground Service Microphone: Used during active voice calls when Android requires microphone access through a foreground service.
- Full-Screen Incoming Call: May be used to display an incoming VoIP call interface when your device is locked or when ShasSIP is running in the background.
- Android Telecom / Call Management: Used to integrate ShasSIP calls with Android's calling system, Bluetooth devices, headsets, audio routing, and system-level call controls.
4. How We Use Information
Information processed by ShasSIP is used only to provide and support the application's SIP and VoIP functionality.
This includes:
- Registering your SIP account with your selected provider.
- Making and receiving SIP calls.
- Routing call audio through your microphone, earpiece, speaker, headset, or Bluetooth device.
- Displaying contact names and caller information.
- Maintaining local call history and favorites.
- Providing SIP registration and call-quality diagnostics.
- Recovering SIP registration after network changes.
- Supporting background incoming calls and Android Telecom integration.
ShasTech-IT does not use SIP credentials, contacts, call history, or call content for advertising or profiling.
5. SIP Credentials and Security
SIP credentials stored by ShasSIP are protected using encrypted storage and Android security mechanisms, including Android Keystore where applicable.
Passwords and SIP authentication headers are not intentionally included in ShasSIP diagnostic logs.
Diagnostic logs are designed to exclude SIP passwords and dialed or incoming phone numbers wherever possible.
You should keep your SIP provider password confidential and use strong, unique credentials when supported by your provider.
6. Voice Calls and Third-Party SIP Providers
When you use ShasSIP to make or receive a call, certain information must be transmitted to the SIP or VoIP provider you selected.
This may include:
- Your SIP username or account identifier.
- The destination phone number or SIP address.
- Incoming caller information supplied by the provider.
- SIP signalling information.
- Voice/audio media required to conduct the call.
This information is transmitted directly between your device and the SIP infrastructure required to provide your selected VoIP service. ShasTech-IT does not operate or control those third-party SIP servers.
Your SIP provider may independently process or retain information according to its own terms of service and privacy policy. You should review your provider's policies before using its services.
7. Transport and Media Security
ShasSIP supports multiple SIP transport and media-security configurations, depending on what your SIP provider supports.
Supported configurations may include:
- UDP SIP — SIP signalling is not encrypted.
- TCP SIP — SIP signalling is not encrypted unless protected separately.
- TLS SIP — SIP signalling can be encrypted and server certificates can be verified.
- RTP — call media is not encrypted.
- SRTP — call media can be encrypted.
- DTLS-SRTP or SDES-SRTP — may be supported depending on the SIP provider and account configuration.
ShasSIP displays security warnings when a profile uses unencrypted SIP signalling or unencrypted RTP media.
We recommend using verified TLS and SRTP whenever supported by your SIP or VoIP provider.
8. Contacts
If Contacts permission is granted, ShasSIP may access phone numbers and contact names stored on your Android device.
Contacts are used only for features such as:
- Searching contacts.
- Displaying names for incoming and outgoing calls.
- Dialing stored phone numbers.
- Adding contacts to ShasSIP Favorites.
ShasSIP does not upload your Android address book to a ShasTech-IT server.
ShasSIP Favorites are stored locally and do not modify the favorite/star status of your original Android contacts.
9. Call History
ShasSIP may store call history locally on your device. This may include call direction, date and time, duration, status, and related SIP result information.
Call history is used to provide features such as Recents, redialing, missed-call information, and troubleshooting.
ShasSIP does not currently upload your local call history to ShasTech-IT servers.
10. Diagnostic Information
ShasSIP includes a SIP Diagnostics feature to help troubleshoot registration, network, transport, and call-quality issues.
Diagnostic information may include:
- SIP provider or profile type.
- Registrar and transport configuration.
- Registration response codes.
- Network connection type.
- Negotiated audio codec.
- RTP packet statistics.
- Packet loss.
- Jitter.
- Round-trip time.
- Audio route information.
Diagnostic logs are stored locally unless you choose to copy, export, or otherwise share them.
ShasSIP is designed to avoid recording SIP passwords, SIP authorization headers, and remote telephone numbers in diagnostic logs.
11. Data Storage
ShasSIP stores application information primarily on your device.
This may include:
- Encrypted SIP account profiles.
- Call history.
- Favorites.
- Application preferences.
- Diagnostic logs.
Sensitive SIP credentials are stored using encrypted application storage and Android security facilities where available.
ShasSIP private application data is configured so that sensitive SIP credentials are not intended to be included in ordinary Android application backups.
12. Data Sharing
ShasTech-IT does not sell or rent ShasSIP user data.
ShasSIP does not currently contain advertising SDKs or a ShasTech-IT analytics backend.
Information required for SIP calling is necessarily transmitted to your selected SIP or VoIP provider and potentially to telecommunications networks involved in completing your call.
Those external providers operate independently and may have their own data-processing and retention practices.
13. Your Choices and Control
You have control over information stored locally by ShasSIP. You can:
- Add, edit, switch, or remove SIP profiles.
- Remove stored SIP provider credentials from ShasSIP.
- Clear call history.
- Remove ShasSIP Favorites.
- Clear diagnostic logs.
- Revoke Contacts permission through Android Settings.
- Revoke Microphone permission through Android Settings, although calling will no longer work correctly.
- Erase all local ShasSIP application data.
- Uninstall ShasSIP to remove application data stored by the app on your device.
Removing a SIP profile from ShasSIP deletes the locally stored profile and credentials from ShasSIP. It does not delete or cancel your account with the third-party SIP provider.
To close or delete an account provided by Jumblo, iTel, your PBX administrator, or another SIP provider, you must contact that provider directly.
14. Children's Privacy
ShasSIP is a general-purpose SIP communication utility and is not specifically designed or directed toward children.
ShasTech-IT does not knowingly operate a ShasSIP account service that collects personal information from children.
15. Third-Party Services
ShasSIP may communicate with third-party SIP, VoIP, PBX, STUN, telecommunications, or related infrastructure selected or configured by the user.
ShasTech-IT does not control the privacy, security, availability, billing, call routing, or data-retention practices of those third-party services.
Users are encouraged to review the privacy policy and terms of service of their chosen SIP or VoIP provider.
16. No Affiliation With SIP Providers
ShasSIP is an independent third-party SIP client.
References to services or technologies such as Jumblo, iTel Mobile Dialer, REVE Systems, Asterisk, FreePBX, or other SIP platforms are provided only for compatibility or configuration purposes.
All trademarks, service names, and product names belong to their respective owners.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when ShasSIP features, technologies, permissions, or legal requirements change.
When changes are made, the updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
